Does anyone have any experiences, good or bad, with powder coating wheels? I was talking with the guys at my dealership about wanting to "spiff up" my wheels and they suggested a cheaper route than buying chromes was to powder coat. I looked on-line a bit and thought I might want the black chrome powdercoat. However, when I went to the powder coating place, the black chrome powdercoat looked nothing like black chrome I've seen before. It was just basically a darker shade than what the wheels already are (and shiny rather than matte). Now I'm not sure if I want to do anything at all. Help?!?!?

YOU MIGHT WANT TO JUST LEAVE IT ALONE. THE TIME YOU SPEND CLEANING THE CHROME IS LESS TIME SPENT RIDING. I think the wheels on the interstate look great just the way they are.

Too late Art. You might not have seen my thread New Whelsf Pictures. I did get chrome and I am very pleased with them. For me the wheel design is fine but I found the finish dull and uninspiring.
