Has anyone fitted the 2" L&M fork extensions to a Sabre.Do you need to extend the brake line? And also L&M say that you will notice where the extension meets the OEM fork tube but can't that be covered up with the stock indicator mount? Any advice from anyone whose done this mod or has anyone done the 1" extension mod and any comments on either would be a help?
I guess if he were going to rework the frame for more rake, change the fork tube length, get a bigger front tire, replace the fuel tank, AND use 2" extensions... then it might start looking like a Fury!
Really interested in doing this as well. But where do you get the L & M extensions from.
Excuse my ignorance.
I have seen some threads on various forums discussing it.
I used to scrape out footpegs, but I installed some custom extended footpegs. I needed the leg room anyway.
It was all good until I started to scrape out the the gear shifter arm.
I reckon a 1 or 2 inch fork extension will solve the problem, and maybe a little more fluid in the forks.
You could probably find them here: www.meancycles.com
Google is your friend as well as everyone else. Give them a try
As far as scraping your shifter......Dude, these aint no crotch rockets. Be careful or the dingos will be licking your wounds. Just Saying
Here's a pic of my 2010 Sabre with 6 degree trees and 2" fork extensions. The bike grew 3.5"'s going from 70" wheelbase to 73.5" wheelbase. I also changed my bars to some 1.25" Drags, that rise a lot higer and pull further back. See pic./
looks good!! Are the 6* trees from VTE-Extreme? That's a pretty good stretch with the 6's.....
