I have found that I really enjoy listening to some music when I'm out on long rides.  I know that the engine makes its own wonderful music, but sometimes, jamming to some good tunes while rolling through the countryside just gives me chills.

Without devolving into a "<genre> of music is the best and <other genre> sucks!" type of conversation, what are your top three songs for the ultimate motorcycle playlist?

For me:

  1. Van Halen - Panama
  2. U2 - Where the streets have no name
  3. AfroCeltSoundSystem - Mojave

Yeah, I'm old too, but that's not slowing me down either.

We'll have to throw a flag on you there Margarita Man...by exceeding the maximum three song playlist limit  :(

However... those songs are classics, and most of them have probably already lasted longer than most of today's music ever will  ;)

So we'll let you slide this time without the usual fatal beating -  because of your acting crazy with the right medication and being over the hill

Oh come on! We all know that from the album Enter Sandman on Metallica sucks. That was the last album James Hetfield had long hair and he might as well have cut it as much as that album sucks. Prior to that the old Metallica will live with me in infamy! :P. I had all the tapes :D Still do somewhere. I think in moms attic.

Everyone could post a huge list of songs.  By limiting things to three, I was hoping to get your favorites.  I'm actually surprised how well Steppenwolf is showing.  :-)

Ahhh Steppenwolf... A true original rebel band, It's so strange that they are still not in the Rock & Roll hall of fame.  Who did they piss off?

The Eagles

Black Sabbath

Bob Dylan

Bob Seger

Rare Earth

Santana

CCR

The Doors

Deep Purple

ELP

Pink Floyd

Wishbone Ash

Yes

Eric Clapton

Fleetwood Mac

All good stuff Bob.  Steppenwolf did make it into the 'Easy Rider' movie, as I recall.

3 Songs, is a short playlist.  Adding a few might help folks build ones to try.

(I always seem to ride the ragged edge of the rules.  ;)  )

That was actually sort of my intention.  I was planning on compiling a playlist based on the suggestions of everyone here.

Mark, that sounds great!...let's back up, and do a personal 3 song playlist submission, towards a playlist that you can create for us ;)

I edited my earlier submission to be more playlist friendly!
